My name is Francesco Terra and I was born in Rome, Italy. After high school graduation, I moved to the USA in 1999 to study marketing management at Youngstown State University, Ohio.

Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Science in Business Administration and I work as Graduate Assistant in the Marketing department of the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University. My concentration is business development.

During the academic year 2003-2004, I concentrated on business development related to manufacturing industries. My theoretical studies on Strategic Marketing and Global Business were integrated with a consulting research project that I conducted at Ohio Star Forge, a division of Daido Steel.

During the current academic year, 2004-2005, I am concentrating on business development related to the retail industry. My theoretical studies on Retail Marketing, Business Entrepreneurship and Consumer Behavior will be integrated with:
1. a consulting research project on consumer behavior and franchising development conducted for Katie's Korner Ice Cream;
2. a thesis on the effectiveness of using shopping centers as a global retail expansion strategy;
3. professional development workshops (retail research and evaluation) that are sponsored by the International Council of Shopping Center and that will take place at the Wharton Business School campus in Philadelphia in March 2005;

My family is composed by my mother, my father and my brother. They all live in Italy.

My father was born in Silvi Marina, a small town in the Abruzzi region, whereas my mother was born in Casacalenda, a small town located in the Molise region. They met in Rome as they were both immigrants.
At the present moment, my parents are tailors and they own a clothing store in Rome, Italy, where they perform clothing alterations, create custom-made suits as well as sell several apparel items such as pants, jackets, shirts and ties. My brother works for an accounting firm located in Rome and specializes in payroll and taxation.

I would like to take this occasion to thank my American relatives, the DelGarbino family for everything they gave me, including the opportunity to study in the US, the opportunity to "work" at their restaurant and more importantly for their love.

I guess my mission statement would be the following...

"Live my life deeply, intensely, emotionally, with the idea to improve myself and to accomplish every achievable goals.
